New content includes vehicles, weapons, attachments and progression layers. The useful question for a returning player is not how long the roadmap looks. It is whether the new environment creates the type of combined-arms stories that disappeared from your previous sessions.

18 August adds Wake Island, new jets and Carrier Strike

The next scheduled beat is a Top Gun collaboration on 18 August. EA lists Wake Island, a limited event, Carrier Strike, fighter content and additional rewards across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.

Limited events create urgency, but the returning map is the more durable reason to reinstall. A recognizable battlefield with air, land and sea routes can help returning squads relearn roles. Cosmetics and event tracks should remain secondary to whether the underlying matches are enjoyable.

The foundation is still large-scale objective play

Battlefield 6 is on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. EA says crossplay can be adjusted, including an option intended to prefer console players without PC, although longer wait times can affect matchmaking behavior.

PC requires security features including Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 for Javelin Anticheat. EA also says Steam users need an EA account even though they do not need the EA App. Steam Deck has no dedicated official support in the FAQ.
